Bills Passed in 2023

Bills passed in 2023. I will be fighting to preserve and increase this critical funding.

The Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act:

The Salary Disclosure bill approved today takes an important step towards closing gender and racial wage gaps. The bill requires businesses with at least 25 employees to disclose salary ranges in job postings and protect an employee's right to ask for salary ranges in the workplace. Additionally, the bill adds new data reporting requirements for employers with 100 or more employees that will help the Commonwealth monitor for gender and racial wage gaps within individual business sectors.

An Act enabling pharmacists to prescribe, dispense and administer PrEP

This bill authorizes pharmacists to dispense PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis) without a prescription on a short-term basis, which will (1) allow the most vulnerable populations to obtain PrEP quickly; and (2) improve access to care by requiring pharmacists to link customers to medical care for ongoing PrEP oversight and other vital health needs.

An Act to increase access to disposable menstrual products (I Am Bill)

This bill would add a requirement for the following locations to provide disposable menstrual products at no cost to menstruating individuals: homeless shelters, including but not limited to family shelter, a shelter for adults, a hotel used for emergency shelter, an emergency apartment, a domestic violence shelter, a runaway and homeless youth shelter, or a safe house for refugees. Every primary and secondary public school and every prison, including correctional institutions, house of corrections, jails, or other lock-up facility.

PACT Act 3.0

This bill intends to increase access, lower costs and promote equity while providing oversight and transparency in our pharmaceutical industry. *New* Capping out-of-pocket for people with diabetes, asthma and heart conditions. This bill will provide (1) prescription drug cost assistance trust fund (2) lowest price at the pharmacy (3) pharmacy choice for patients (4) access and affordability improvement plan process and (4) oversight and transparency.
